Tuesday Jul 16, 2019
HEY CHICAGO!! This week on DA Podcast we have a special guest, Ron Russell, in studio with us talking about a variety of topics, including: how the new minimum wage in Illinois is hurting local fast food establishments, what will they do now?
We discuss how there is brain-damaging lead in the water all over the city and how our wonderful officials have known about and done nothing. But hey, you can get a free water filter if you ask nicely. Thanks Cook County... ugh.
The Humboldt Park alligator! It is in the depths, it is alive, where is it? Alligator Bob is on the case and we are hoping for a safe rescue of the creature to get it out of Humboldt Park lagoon... it has blue-green algae don't you know.
The Chicago Fire is moving away from Bridgeview and back to Soldier Field... allegedly. You soccer fans have to come into the city again. YAY!
All that and of course the Jagoff of Da Week on this episode of Da Chicago 60 podcast!

Episode 13 - Craft Beer & Black People, Madigan & SpongeBob
Tuesday Jul 09, 2019
Tuesday Jul 09, 2019
HEY CHICAGO! HAPPY 4th of JULY! USA! USA!
This week on Da Chicago 60 podcast, Norm and I recap our 4th of July weekend and discuss our new comedy sketches that are coming out soon.
Craft Beer. People like it. People love it. People drink it. Brett Kavanaugh does. But, do black people like craft beer? Norm and I discuss and give shoutouts to the new brewery in Englewood.
Madigan, the real Frank Underwood, ensured his victory with "false candidates." Ah, corruption at its finest. Chicago pension debt is still in debt and Illinois does not want to be considered "junk" so people won't get their money. But, the state under JB wants to take more of your money in the form of a gas tax.
There is a new pop-up SpongeBob Squarepants themed bar in Chicago until the 15th of July!
Da Bulls and Da Hawks get some new players and the US Women's National Soccer team wins the World Cup! The men... lost the Gold Cup. Typical.
All of these stories and of course the Jagoff of Da Week on this episode of Da Chicago 60!

Hey CHICAGO! This week, Norm and I discuss how Illinois is moving away from coal energy and trying to move toward other alternative energies. JB Pritzker just brokered a new deal with Vistra Energy to close some coal plants in South and Central Illinois.
WEED IS LEGAL! In Illinois, effective January 1, 2020. We discuss the effects and implications of this for all you smokers out there.
And, scooters. They are here, they are weird, and people are not using them properly and breaking the rules. Typical.
We also discuss blue-green algae in the Humboldt Park lagoon, O'Hare and Midway airports still suck; libraries get extended hours via Lori Lightfoot; DAAA BULLS & DAAA HAWKS get some new players in their respective drafts and we are excited for the new seasons!

Tuesday Jun 25, 2019
Tuesday Jun 25, 2019
This week on Da Chicago 60 podcast, JB Pritzker signs into law the most progressive abortion law of any state in the United States. Norm and I give our initial reactions to the language of the law and the motivations behind it. PRIDE WEEKEND IS HERE! That's right, Norm gives his tips and tricks for how to enjoy, and survive, PRIDE in Chicago.
Another new law makes it easier for women to get back their maiden names after a divorce; and... carp... a horrific fish preying on the Wetlands of the Great Lakes. How do we deal with these... carp? They are eating everything and investing our ponds and golf course waters! Do we kill them? Eat them? Swim with them? Well, we have plenty of hashtags for that! #EatDaCarp #KillDaCarp #SwimminWithDaCarp

WE. ARE. BACK! After a two week hiatus, Da Chicago 60 is back; this week's episode we discuss why 60% of male managers are afraid to mentor female employees. A #MeToo backlash? Or understandable caution?
Lori Lightfoot all but promises increases in taxes. The minimum wage may increase to $15/hour ahead of schedule in Chicago. Norm talks about the Pokemon Go festival that just happened - it sort of worked this year. Fairlife, a Chicago-based milk company... finds itself caught with its hands in the cookie jar. Da Cubs get a new pitcher and the Women's World Cup is here.... but does anyone care?

Episode 9 - Memorial Day, Patriotism, Lightfoot
Tuesday May 28, 2019
Tuesday May 28, 2019
Hey Chicago! It was Memorial Day yesterday! Shoutout to all our veterans and servicemen and women who put their lives on the line so we can goof around and so silly stuff on our daily routines. We have a wonderful history and many of our veterans are the reason we live so freely today, so we honor them. However, what will this day look like in the future once previous generations have passed. War is not as prevalent as it once was and looks way different now. Their are different stereotypes for joining the military these days. So, will Memorial Day ever be the same? Norm and I discuss.
Lori Lightfoot is officially mayor of Chicago! How will she do? Rahm is done and he gets his final report card grade from Da Chicago 60.
We review a play at Theater Wit from the Shattered Globe Theater Company, "Hannah and Martin," AND we give a big shout out to Walter Payton for being named da best Chicago Bears player of all-time. All of this and the Jagoff of da Week on this episode of Da Chicago 60 podcast!

They jog. They run. They are everywhere now that the weather is starting to get better. How to deal with them? Norm will tell you. We also rant about "moving season," that time of year when everyone... moves apartments.
